The aims of the project are to contribute to the circular economy and the bioeconomy by the reuse of quality cellulose wasted during the manufacture of recycled paper by using ionic liquids and eutectic solvents, also called green solvents. The use of this cellulose fiber (currently wasted) would increase company's production, and, at the same time, it would reduce the generated waste. The second goal is to give added value to the waste from the paper process production by the hydrolysis of lower quality cellulose contained in the formation of glucose and, subsequently, the transformation of this glucose to hydroxymethylfurfural.
