The team
Senior researcher of the Forest Science and Technology Consortium of Catalonia (CTFC) and head of the Bioeconomy, Health and Governance program. Her research is carried out in the Bioproducts and circular bioeconomy research group. PhD in Environmental Sciences from the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2010). She has professional experience in relation to bioproducts and circular bioeconomy development in different R & D departments of companies such as Aeris Tecnologías Ambientales SL, as well as research centres such as the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and the Instituto de Carboquímica from the Spanish National Research Council (ICB-CSIC). Currently, she is also a researcher associated to the Department of Chemistry of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Her research focuses on obtaining value-added products from different types of biomasses by applying thermochemical processes, basically torrefaction and pyrolysis; the analytical characterization of the products obtained from these processes and the use and conversion of bio-oil as chemical platforms and products (such as antioxidants), under the biorefinery framework and in the context of bioeconomy and circular economy. She is also a cofounder and mentor of Inèdit Innovació SL, a strategical eco-innovation studio working towards the transition to a smart, prosperous and sustainable future.
